Joe’s first job in The Coca-Cola Company was as Legal Counsel for The Coca-Cola
Southern and East Africa Division. He assumed this position in July 2002 after practising
as a commercial attorney at a leading Johannesburg law firm for three-and-a-half
years. In early 2004 Joe was appointed to the Coca-Cola Africa Group office, where
he was responsible for managing the Company’s vast Intellectual Property portfolio
and assisting in trademark issues. After three years in this role, he was made Legal
Director for Coca-Cola South Africa.
A member of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces, Joe holds a BA Law and LLB
degrees, as well as a Higher Diploma in Company Law, all from the University of
the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma
in Commercial Intellectual Property from Nottingham Trent University in the UK.
